Dr. Vanausdall is new to consulting but has over 10 years of academic and professional research experience monitoring and studying wildlife. Her background focuses mainly on wildlife ecology, with an emphasis on the response of birds to habitat restoration, habitat and harvest management, and environmental changes. She has extensive field and research experience working in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and the Middle Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico. She has published on waterfowl and waterbirds, including sandhill cranes, wetland and water body restoration, and bats and wind energy. Along with applicable field expertise, she is also skilled in statistical modeling, coding, data management, and project management. Her focus with GSA is leading ongoing research and habitat conversion efforts focused on sandhill cranes in New Mexico.
