The GeoSystems Analysis, Inc. hydrologic property testing laboratory uses state-of-the-art methods to determine saturated/unsaturated flow properties of porous media.  In particular, we specialize in determining the flow properties of soils and waste materials with significant amounts of rock (gravel) fragments under various conditions of saturation and load (consolidation) pressures.  Our laboratory provides hydraulic parameter estimates that can be used to predict the performance of metal recovery heap leaching operations, mine closure cover systems, groundwater remediation efforts and groundwater recharge operations.

Our hydrologic testing laboratory is the only laboratory in the United States which measures complete hydrologic and physical parameters for high gravel content materials.
We also offer specialized core testing, subsurface sensor calibration and data reports in client-specified format.  Additionally, in the absence of reliable site-specific data, we can provide reasonable estimates of flow parameters from an extensive soils database that relates particle-size distribution to various flow
All laboratory testing is directly supervised by Dr. Mike Yao.  Dr. Yao has over 20 years experience in unsaturated flow testing and in the development of experimental methods to determine hydraulic properties and subsurface sensor calibration.  His expertise ensures that appropriate tests are conducted and resulting data are of the highest quality.
